News - Project xCloud : Cloud-Gaming-Service startet heute

Heute ist es nun soweit - Microsofts Cloud-Gaming-Service, bisher bekannt unter der Bezeichnung Project xCloud, geht an den Start und zwar mit satten 150 Spielen.

Project xCloud bekommt zum Launch auch gleich einen neuen Namen, auch wenn selbiger eher unspektakulär ist. Der Dienst wird künftig unter der Bezeichnung "Cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" zu finden sein, was alles erklärt, aber nicht sonderlich sexy klingt.

Wie auch immer, nach der langen Betaphase wird das Cloud Gaming nun ein fester Bestandteil des Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Es erlaubt euch, jedes der inkludierten Spiele direkt auf einem Android-Device aus der Cloud zu zocken, ohne, dass ihr es herunterladen müsst. Ihr benötigt lediglich die Cloud-Gaming-App aus dem Store.

Leider steht dieser Dienst bis auf weiteres nur für Android-Geräte zur Verfügung, da die Nutzungsbedingungen des AppStores einem Betrieb via iOS im Wege stehen, auch wenn Apple am Freitag mit einer Änderung zumindest mininales, wenn auch ziemlich zweckloses Entgegenkommen gezeigt hat.

Zum Start von Cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate stehen satte 150 Titel zur Verfügung, die künftig mobil am Smartphone oder Tablet gezockt werden können. Weitere Titel sollen ergänzt werden, während andere wieder rausfliegen, ähnlich wie beim Xbox Game Pass. Folgende Spiele stehen zum Launch zur Verfügung:
